We are always busy behind the scenes at Bridgend County Swim Squad, either with team selections, competition entries, development and junior club competitions, admin and general fundraising!
The club’s notice boards at each of our pools is a good way of keeping parents and swimmers up to date on such activities. Our fantastic new website is another popular communication forum. For those of you who haven’t checked this out yet, please log onto www.bridgendcounty.co.uk for the most up to date information about what’s happening throughout the club at various levels.
Over the next three months, we have the following events/competitions coming up…..
Summer Meal & Disco – to be held on 20th July at Ewenny & Corntown Cricket Club promises to be a fantastic social event for parents and swimmers alike with a disco, karaoke and games for the whole family. The cost is £7.50 per person and the meal selections are paella, beef stroganoff and curry with salads, rice and french bread. An alternative child’s option has now been added (hot dogs) at a cost of £2.50.
Oakwood Park – again a trip for the whole family, grandparents too on 11th August £18.50 per person, including travel and entry to the park., this is a fantastic price. A great way to relax after a hard year’s swimming!
Folly Farm – 29th September and at a cost of £12.50 a great day out for the younger members of our squad. Price includes entry and travel costs.
Club Championships – This will now be held at Maesteg Swimming pool on 15th and 16th September. Entry forms will be available this month at your home pools as well as on the website. Phil and your development coaches will be expecting participation from all swimmers, it really is a great way to get used to competitions and is a brilliant opportunity to get to know your fellow swimmers.
